Now we know what you’re thinking...

"The Red/Green/Orange One, bit on the nose isn't it?

Well...yes, yes it is.

But you see when it came to naming our YAMZA! hot sauces, we were stumped, as in stumped stumped.

“The red one’s got a fruity finish, let’s go for Fruity Hot Sauce?”
“Does that hit how succulent the fermented scotch bonnets are though?”

“The orange one’s zesty, so what abooouuut Zesty Hot Sauce?”
“Hmm doesn’t quite land the twist of dried lime pickle.”

“The green one has a nice herby kick, maybe Herby Hot Sauce?”
“Yeah, but we wanna talk about the pickled chilli flavour and punch of jalapeno!”

We tried Smoky Hot Sauce, Fiery Hot Sauce, Tangy Hot Sauce, Saucy Hot Sauce (we were getting quite tired by this point) but nothing seemed to fit. It wasn’t until what felt like our 17 thousandth meeting that one of the team said, “What about just calling it The Red One…you know, ‘cos it’s red?”

It might sound simple, but we just couldn’t capture our flavours or fermented chilli profiles with a single word.
